Sacrament of Baptism:
Old
St. Joseph's holds parish celebrations of the Sacrament of
Baptism on the 3rd Sunday of each month at 1pm; or, preferably,
at any Sunday Eucharist by arrangement with Fr. Hricko at
least one month in advance. You can reach Fr. Hricko at at
215.923.1733 or mhricko@oldstjoseph.org. All parents are required
to attend a pre-Baptism instruction on a 3rd Thursday, 7:30
to 9:00 PM, before the baptism takes place. Godparents
are strongly encouraged to attend this instruction.
Sacrament of Matrimony:
Persons
who wish to be married at Old St. Joseph's should contact
Fr. Hricko at least six months prior to the anticipated
date of the wedding. Registered, longstanding parishioners
are given preference in scheduling. Please contact Fr. Hricko
via his email address: mhricko@oldstjoseph.org.
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults:
Unbaptized adults, Catholics baptized as infants who received
no other sacraments, and baptized non-Catholics considering
full communion in the Catholic Church are most welcome to
contact the parish office at 215.923.1733.
Sacrament of Anointing:
On
the first Saturday of every month, we offer the Sacrament
of Anointing during the 12:05 PM Mass to all those who wish
to receive it. Formerly known as “Extreme Unction,”
or the “Last Rites” and generally restricted to
those who were in danger of death, the Church now makes this
Sacrament available to anyone who is sick in mind or body
or who is facing some medical procedure that causes him or
her some anxiety. Like any sacrament, the Sacrament of the
sick is the place in which believers encounter the person
and activity of Jesus who continues to be present in the world
today through the ministry of the Church. In this particular
sacrament, it is the Jesus who heals and who has compassion
on the sick and the suffering whom we encounter.
